At the ONE°15 Brooklyn Marina in Brooklyn Bridge Park, dock hands advised boat owners to secure sails, canvas, chairs and other items, and to make sure key equipment was functioning properly.
“Generally speaking, preparing for the worst is a good policy,” said Sam Barrett-Cotter, the marina’s dockmaster. “Most of the time these storms will die out by the time they reach New York, but we always prepare as if a major hurricane may arrive.”
