Our instructor credentials include USCG Captain’s Licenses, instructor certifications from US Sailing, the American Sailing Association (ASA), or the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). Many of them have also completed advanced certifications such STCW, Safety-at-Sea and Performance Sailing.
 
More importantly, our instructors are all passionate about teaching and sailing and love to share their experiences.

Our courses, where applicable, are a mix of classroom and practical training which yields the best of both worlds for students to understand and retain concepts. Some of the courses also integrate an online component to complement the learning experience.

We are a US Sailing accredited sailing school. We offer US Sailing certifications as well as ONE15 Brooklyn Sailing School certifications.
 
US Sailing certifications are recognized throughout the world as stepping stones to more adventures.

We take teaching seriously. Our instructors use ONE15 created professional grade presentations slides and handout materials and US Sailing textbooks and online courses. These resources combined with fun and practical training gives every student the best consistent learning environment.

Learning from great instructors is critical. Add in a well maintained modern platform and your learning experience can be spectacular.
 
Our fleet is comprised of six Melges 24’s and seven J/80’s. These are first rate, modern designed boats sailed around the world by novices and professionals alike. We utilize the J/80 as our main teaching platform due to its spacious seating area, ample headroom and ease of sailing.
 
We pride ourselves on how well our fleet is maintained to ensure that our students have the best experience. Our staff love boating and treat each boat as their own.

After taking sessions at the School students can easily join the sailing community to continue learning and sailing. Many of our graduates become Sail Club members – they are already familiar with our boats, facilities and sailing area.
 
Members have exclusive access to the Learn-to-Skipper programs, racing series and Fleet Captain sailing.

Our onboard student to instructor ratio is normally 4:1. Each student receives ample time practicing skills and instructor attention. This ratio combined with the spacious cockpit area of our boats provides a relaxing and comfortable platform to enjoy sailing.
