Join our Coaching Staff for 2022

We are looking for a few good sailors – those who love coaching and sailing. Our coaches are responsible for imparting skills and knowledge to new sailors and our members. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, teaching adult and teen US Sailing courses (Basic Keelboat), coaching members (skipper training & certification, performance sailing), running private classes and private charters, running race committee and race debriefs, and assisting in operations and light boat maintenance.

 

We have seasonal part-time and full-time positions starting March 2022 through October 2022, however this position accepts candidates on a flexible, rolling basis for applicants able to start throughout the spring & summer months.

 

Ideal Qualifications: US Sailing Basic Keelboat Instructor certification with USCG OUPV or higher credentials. Please contact us even if you don’t have USCG credentials yet.

School Program Manager

The Sailing School Program Manager will oversee the Club’s sailing school program. This person needs to be a strong leader, communicator, skilled sailor, and have great management skills. The most desirable applicant will have a background in hospitality and education as well. The person will work with the Director of Sailing Operations to cover all aspects of the business (marketing and course development and execution).

Sailing Center Associate

Our associates help our coaches, members students and guests with checking in, setting up boats, casting off and returning to the Club docks. Sail Center Associates also act as an information resource to general public and help educate them on our Sail Club, community dock and marina activities. This is a seasonal position.

Service and Operations Crew

We are looking for a number of great operations staff to help us maintain our fleet of high performance sailboats and support boats. We are looking for folks who are organized and well versed in commissioning, decommissioning, preventative maintenance and sailboat repairs. USCG OUPV credentials or better and US Sailing keelboat instructor certifications are helpful. We have seasonal part-time and full-time positions starting late-March through October.

Volunteer Opportunities

We looking for volunteers for our Community Sail Away program. The program enables first-time sailors in the community to experience the waterfront via a short sail. We are looking for experienced skippers and crew who can take out novices on our boats. 

Volunteers are also required to help organize Club racing and special regattas. Club racing is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons. If you would like to view racing from a different perspective – come join our Race Committee.
